Okay so I’ve got a little theory about 7x17 based on the spoilers and the title of the episode itself. It’s all going to be completely wrong but anyway.

So, Born Again Identity. People have pointed out the obvious connection to the Bourne films, which fits due to the plot spoiler that Castiel is going to have amnesia.

But there are two puns to that title, the second one being a ‘born again Christian’.

This led me to think that perhaps with Sam going insane it causes Dean to look for a cure, much like Sam did for Dean in the episode Faith.

So what if Castiel is a faith healer like Roy Le Grange is? Only that he’s forgotten that he’s an angel and so he has these strange healing powers he uses for good (perhaps he thinks it’s what God wants him to do); a born again Christian if you were. This would be his new identity.

Therefore when Dean comes looking for some supernatural healing, he finds Cas instead? 

Yeah, I think that would be cool.
